The Department of Anaesthesiology at Guru Nanak Hospital, Mumbai provides anaesthesia services to all surgical specialties like paediatric surgery including neonates, orthopaedics including trauma and joint replacements, caesareans and gynaecology cases. Pre-anaesthesia check-up prior to any surgery is mandatory in order to decide on which modality of anaesthesia is suitable for each patient. The department includes skilled and experienced anaesthesiologists who are also qualified in pain medicine including labour analgesia.

Anaesthesiology is a full service department that is available to respond to any surgical procedure, pain management, respiratory, cardiac arrest and obstetric coverage. Our primary goal is to provide the highest degree of care with primary emphasis on the patient’s safety and satisfaction. Our anaesthetic techniques cover the entire range of procedures to improve outcomes.

Pain management is a sub specialty of anaesthesiology using an interdisciplinary approach for easing the suffering and improving the quality of life of those living with pain. Pain sometimes resolves promptly once the underlying trauma or pathology has healed, and is treated with drugs such as analgesics and (occasionally) anxiolytics. Effective management of long term pain, however, frequently requires the coordinated efforts of the management team.

Our timely and efficient care is engineered in ways to focus on the individual needs of the patient.
